Without relying on your coach to "connect" you with schools, flying all over the country to showcases & camps, and feeling overwhelmed by the whole process.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "We ended up with 10 offers and a total of $175k in combined scholarships" - Gwyn
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "You are the best at what you do. You are exactly what parents and kids need today." - Jon
They get their advice from friends who have been through the process before, and think it will apply to their recruiting process even though they have a completely different situation
They send 20-40 emails to college coaches and wonder why it's not working
They choose a high school, club or travel team based on the coach's "connections," only to find out he doesn't have any or won't exercise them
They spend tens of thousands of dollars on showcases & camps for "exposure" that never amounts to anything and results in travel fatigue
They assume that free information on social media & webinars will be enough to compete with families who are spending $10,000+ on the college recruiting process
They think their kid is good enough to get discovered on talent alone, only to find out senior year that college recruiting only works like that for the top 5% of athletes
The college recruiting process doesn't reward families with good intentions. It rewards families who know how the process works, and act accordingly.
Smaller Scholarships. Scholarship amounts were significantly lower 5 years ago, resulting in less competition. Higher scholarship amounts now result in increased competition.
No transfer portal. 5 years ago, your 16 year old wasn't competing with 22 year olds in the transfer portal. They are now. This is making it harder for HS athletes to get recruited.
No NIL. 5 years ago, college programs couldn't pay athletes. Now that they can, the reward for getting recruited is higher than ever resulting in a more competitive recruiting environment.
Roster Caps. 5 years ago, there were less restrictions on how many athletes a team could carry on their roster. With less spots available in today's recruiting world, competition is fierce.
And then parents wonder why they're overwhelmed, frustrated and lost in the recruiting process. It shouldn't be that hard, right? This is why it's hard.
Parents are often made out to be these crazy people who think their kid is the next LeBron James or Patrick Mahomes. But I haven't really found this to be the case.
Most families have reasonable expectations.
They just want their kid to attend a school where they can continue their career, get a great education, meet lifelong friends, mature into a productive member of society, have some fun, and set themselves up for a great life.
The problem is that lots of parents secretly hold beliefs that prevent their kid from ever doing that.
"Our high school coach is not helpful at all. He says he's working on behalf of the kids, but I don't see it. If he would just get up off the couch and make a few phone calls, we'd be in a completely different position..."
"We've sent emails out. Most of the schools didn't respond at all, and the ones that did just sent us a generic camp invite that they send to everybody. I don't think email works..."
"We've been to all the big showcases. College coaches only watch the players from the big organizations. None of the lesser known players get a look, even if they're more talented. If only we were on a better travel team..."
"If I could just get these coaches in a room with my kid, they'd see what they're missing out on. He's got amazing game IQ and sees the field differently than other players. There's just no way to showcase that..."
"I've seen all the videos on social media. I've been to the webinars. I just find it hard to believe there's additional information out there that could help us. I mean we're not doing great, but we're not doing terribly..."
"Coaches are already done recruiting our class. We started too late. There's nothing we can do..."
The reality is that none of these things should hold you back.
If you feel like the recruiting deck is stacked against you, it's not. You're probably just playing the game on "hard mode." You're using old tactics. You're taking advice from people who don't really know what they're talking about. You're getting burned out.
Remember, the recruiting process doesn't reward hard work and good intentions. It rewards those who know how to play the game.

Your kid must be good enough to play at the schools you're shooting for. No amount of exposure will solve a talent problem.
For most families, this is typically not the issue. Most parents aren't putting in time & money because their kid is getting dominated by other athletes. Their kid is usually doing the dominating.

Then you need evidence of talent. You can't just say, think or believe that your kid is good enough. You have to prove it.
There are 9 different types of evidence that you should be providing to college coaches. Most parents send video and stats, and assume that's enough. It's not.

Then you need enough college coaches to know who your kid is. The best player in the world will go un-recruited if they're hidden away from college coaches.
Exposure comes down to 2 things: getting as many college coaches as possible to know your kid's name, and getting those coaches to evaluate your kid as many times as possible.
Send emails & DMs to college coaches
What to say, what evidence to send, how many times to contact them, how often to contact them, what to say in follow ups, etc.
Attend Showcases & Camps
How to picks ones that are worth the money, how to avoid money-grabs, what to say before, what to say after, etc.
Film & Edit Video
How many videos you should have, where they should be hosted, how long they should be, what skills to show, etc.
Following up with college coaches
How often to follow up, what to say, how to not be annoying, how to not be forgettable, how to convert interest to offers, etc.
Knowing what actions you need to do and how to do them effectively are not the same. Many families fail to maximize their kid's potential because they believe they're doing the right things, but doing them the wrong way.
We've been at this for years, so we've been able to see (up close) how the recruiting process is ebbing, flowing and changing.
We've helped hundreds of families in a hands-on environment. If you count livestreams, it's in the tens of thousands.
Our athletes have sent over 1 million emails & DMs to college coaches.
We've personally reviewed, edited or created more than 10,000 highlight videos
We've helped families in 14 different sports and have a front row seat to see the nuances & differences between them
We've generated tens of millions of dollars in scholarship money
We analyzed 8,446 athletes in 2025 to see how kids are ACTUALLY getting recruited (not how people "think" they're getting recruited)
No more throwing money at the "showcase & camp machine" and hoping it works out
No more frustration with your club or travel coach for dropping the ball
No more sending emails & DMs into the black void with no responses
No more spending dozens of hours on things that won't work
No more sleepless nights wondering how you're going to make this happen
No more tearful conversations in the car after seeing your kid's friends receive offers
On the orientation call, we'll also give you access to our recruiting platform. You'll be able to research schools, filter by criteria, build school lists, and find coach contact information.
This is a dedicated channel specifically for D1 Scholarship families. Engage with other parents who are serious about recruiting, ask our D1 Team questions, and accelerate your learning.
Every week, we host a live call where you can ask any questions you have, and hear directly from our team. If you can't make the call, you can send in questions ahead of time to be answered & watch the recording.
You'll get access to more than 40 email & DM scripts that we've battle-tested over the last few years. These are proven words & frameworks that you can copy, paste and make your own.
If you wouldn't club a baby seal to stay in the Scholarship Lab after your first 30 days (because you love it so much) we'll give you a full refund, no questions asked. To be eligible for the guarantee, all you have to do is ask at least 3 questions in the community chat.
$97 per month. No long term commitments. Cancel anytime. Most families spend triple this amount on a single showcase or camp with little to no promise of tangible results.

Most families are wasting thousands of dollars on showcases & camps that are worthless. One thing we often advise families on in the Lab is how to ensure an event is worth your time and money before you attend.
One single month in the Scholarship Lab could potentially save you thousands, and earn you back a few extra weekends.

When you're "figuring" out the process, you're often actively moving in the wrong direction.
You ever been in a car going the wrong way? To rectify the mistake, you had to retrace your steps back to square 1, then begin your journey heading the right way.
In the Lab, we save families from heading the wrong direction & setting themselves back many months.

When you're not sure what to do next, frustration sets in. You're stuck between a rock and a hard place: you don't want to waste time doing the wrong thing, but you don't want to sit there and do nothing.
In the Lab, we'll give you a phase-specific curriculum so you'll have clear next steps on exactly what you should be working on next.

You know Johnny...that parent in the bleachers who thinks he's "God's gift to recruiting" but doesn't actually know what he's talking about?
In the Lab, you get access to experts who have helped families just like you. We don't have an agenda. We don't have to posture to brag about our kid. We're just there to help you get more interest & scholarship offers.

"Did you put your school list together yet?" No. "Did you look up the coach's contact information yet?" No.
The recruiting platform we'll give you will add years back onto your life. It'll save you from the boring, monotonous work of scouring the internet for a dumb email address or social media account.

When you're in the Lab, you can be sure you're working on the right things. You're doing them the right way. You're giving your kid the absolute best chance to get recruited.
You have a team of experts to lean on. You have other families in the trenches with you. And you're actively working on giving your kid a better future. What could be better?
The Scholarship Lab is a totally different way of navigating recruiting.
No. Scholarship Lab stands on its own. If you later decide you want to join one of the 90‑day accelerators, we can help you do that. For most families, Lab is the “home base” for the entire journey.
The accelerators are 90‑day deep‑dive sprints where we build and execute a full plan with you. Scholarship Lab is ongoing guidance, community, and scripts so you can work the plan yourself with support.
The Lab is mainly for parents. We do have a few athletes inside, but the majority are parents.
The Lab is best for families with a HS or collegiate aged athlete.
We have 14 different sports inside the Lab. You will receive both sport-specific advice AND situation specific advice. So the strategies, tactics, and guidance you receive will not just be tailored to your sport, but also to your unique situation.
You can cancel any time with a couple of clicks. If you wouldn't club a baby seal to stay inside the Lab after your first 30 days, we'll give you a full refund. To be eligible for the guarantee, all you have to do is ask at least 3 questions in the community chat to show you actually tried.
We update the data every single month to ensure that all data is as accurate as possible. Coach volatility is a real thing in recruiting, and we take it very seriously.
Your athlete can join you, but it's not mandatory or necessary.
Click any button on this page, and complete the check out to join the Lab.
You'll be sent an email with your receipt, and you'll also receive a welcome email from us with next-step instructions.
Use the instructions in the welcome email to join the Community Chat.
You'll introduce yourself to the group, and ask your first question to "break the ice."
You'll be given a link to schedule a 15-minute orientation call. Please do this ASAP.
On this call, you'll get access to the recruiting platform, your phase-specific curriculum, and we'll ensure you're confident with how to get the most out of the Lab.

Career: 7+ years of professional baseball (no one ever expected this to happen) in the Los Angeles Angels & Texas Rangers organizations
Experience: Been through the recruiting process twice, attended the University of Oregon, Orange Coast College, and Mississippi State University (it's a long story)
Since Starting D1 Scholarship: We've helped hundreds of athletes across 14 different sports generate tens of millions of dollars in scholarships. When we first started D1 Scholarship, we never imagined we'd get to where we are. It's been such a privilege to help with amazing families.
I know what it's like to hate the recruiting process. I know what it's like to feel invisible. I know what it's like to feel like no one understands what I'm capable of.
But I also know what it's like to figure it out. And to have dozens of coaches calling me. And to get 6-figure scholarship offers. And if you want, my team and I can show you all of our best performing strategies that we've kept hidden all these years. Totally up to you, but I'd love to see you inside the Lab.

Your kid only gets one shot at this. You can wing it, or you can plug into a proven system, a live office hour every week, and scripts that have already opened doors for other families.
